Teenager who went missing to take bath in Ganga, clothes and slippers found on the ghat
Varanasi : Dharmendra Sonkar (16 years), son of Khunnu Sonkar, who had a fruit shop in the premises near Markandeya Mahadev Temple in Kaithi village of Chaubepur area, went missing on Wednesday when he had gone to take a bath in the Ganga. His clothes and slippers were found on the ghat. In such a situation, the police is searching for him in the Ganga with the help of divers. As soon as the incident was known, there was chaos among the family members.
Dharmendra Sonkar was a resident of Chandravati. He had reached Markandey Mahadev on Wednesday morning to see his father’s fruit shop. His father had come home to get food, when his father reached his shop he left after asking his father to take bath at the ghat. When he did not come to the shop after a long time, his father started searching. His clothes and slippers were found on the banks of Markandeya Mahadev Ganga Ghat.
Markandeya Mahadev informed about his drowning in the Ganga at Kaithi Chowki. After receiving the information, outpost in-charge Sanjay Rai and inspector in-charge Chaubepur Rajeev Singh reached the spot with the help of local divers and conducted a thorough search of the drowned teenager in the river, but he could not be found. Mother Munni Devi and father, who reached the spot after receiving information about the incident, were left crying and in bad condition.
