Telangana BSP promises smartphones, washing machines to women workers
Hyderabad: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has promised free smartphones and washing machines for women workers and farmers in Telangana. The party on Tuesday released its manifesto for the assembly elections to be held next month. In which free driving training has also been promised for women workers. The party has also assured 10 lakh jobs for the youth in the next five years. Of these, 50 percent jobs will be given to women.
The party has also promised to give one acre of land to every landless family. The land lease will be issued in the name of women. Houses of 550 square yards will be allotted to the homeless. The government will also give Rs 6 lakh for housing construction.
BSP state president R.S. Praveen Kumar released a manifesto titled ‘Bahujan Bharosa’. In which 33 percent reservation has been promised for women in the state cabinet. The party also promised to make student leaders shadow ministers.
Before releasing the manifesto, the BSP leader garlanded Pravalika’s photo. Pravalika had committed suicide last week allegedly due to the postponement of job recruitment examinations.
The BSP also assured minimum support prices (MSP) for all crops and subsidies for farmers affected by natural disasters. It also promised to dismantle the Dharani portal, the land records management system launched by the KCR government.
If voted to power, BSP will establish an international school in every mandal. Every year 100 students from each division will be provided education abroad. Praveen Kumar said that workers in both rural and urban areas will be provided assured employment for 150 days every year with a minimum daily wage of Rs 350. They will also be given free transportation and health insurance.
BSP has also promised health insurance of Rs 15 lakh for each family. Rs 25,000 crore will be spent every year on nutrition and health budget. If voted to power, the party will also set up a board with Rs 5,000 crore for the welfare of Gulf migrant workers.
It has been assured in the manifesto that the services of ASHA and Anganwadi workers will be regularized. BSP has already announced that it will contest next month’s assembly elections on its own. It released its first list of 20 candidates earlier this month. Retired IPS officer Praveen Kumar will contest from Sirpur constituency. (IANS).
