Telangana Congress seeks applications for Lok Sabha tickets
The Telangana Congress has initiated the process of ticket allocation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with party leaders submitting applications for candidacy across all 17 parliamentary seats in the state. The deadline for receiving applications has been set for March 3, and a dedicated committee has been formed to scrutinize and assess the submitted applications.
Following a meeting of the Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) on Tuesday, Chief Minister and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President A. Revanth Reddy addressed the media. He announced that the meeting had unanimously passed a resolution empowering the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to finalize the selection of candidates.
In preparation for the elections, in-charges have been appointed for each of the 17 constituencies. Reddy outlined the launch of the election campaign, scheduled to commence with a public meeting at Indravelli in Nirmal district on February 2. Public meetings are planned for all constituencies to engage with the electorate.
During the PEC meeting, Reddy urged party leaders to exert maximum effort to secure victory for the Congress. He highlighted that the schedule for Rajya Sabha elections has already been disclosed.
Reddy affirmed the commitment of the Congress government to implement all the assurances outlined in the election manifesto. He assured that the necessary budgetary allocations to fulfill these guarantees would be made in the upcoming budget.
In addition, the Chief Minister disclosed plans to release a white paper on irrigation during the state legislature’s upcoming budget session. He informed the media that the vigilance department has initiated an investigation into irregularities within the irrigation department.
Addressing public representatives, Reddy extended an invitation for discussions on citizens’ issues. He expressed willingness to meet with all MLAs and even offered appointments to political figures such as KTR and Harish Rao, emphasizing a commitment to address the concerns of the people.
