The corporation’s enforcement task forces (ETFs) and police task force in a joint operation raided a warehouse at Pasha Melaram near Patancheru in Sangareddy and unearthed a network carrying out large-scale underground operations. The network was involved in diverting recycled rice meant for the Public Distribution System (PDS) from various mills to FCI and State Warehousing Corporation warehouses as new custom milled rice. About 750 metric tonnes of PDS rice illegally stored and transported in seven trucks was seized.

The vigilance and enforcement wing of the Civil Supplies Corporation has registered a case against a warehouse owner in connection with the seizure and a search is on for those behind the illegal operation. Cases have also been registered against the drivers of the trucks engaged in transporting the material.
