Telangana News: Vanita Kamareddy elected municipal vice-president
Kamareddy: Ward 16 councillor Urdonda Vanitha was elected as the new vice-chairman of Kamareddy Municipality on Friday. The election process was held during a meeting convened by Kamareddy Revenue Divisional Officer Ranganatha Rao and Municipal Commissioner Sujatha. Vanitha’s victory was unanimous, with most of the councillors present expressing their support.
This comes after Congress councillor Gaddam Indu Priya was elected as the municipality chairperson on April 16. Following the announcement, state government advisor Mohd Ali Shabbir congratulated Vanitha. It is important to note that out of a total of 49 councillors, 30 attended the meeting, which was more than the required quorum of 26 for the vice-chairman election.
