Telangana: Police surprised by ‘dead’ mine worker being alive
Hyderabad: In a bizarre development, locals of Reddypuram Kovelakunta, Hanumakonda were in shock when a man, who was lying unconscious in water for over five hours, came alive on Monday, June 10. The locals immediately informed the KU police after seeing the man. The police rushed to the spot. However, to their surprise, the man, who was thought to be dead, suddenly showed signs of life when he was pulled out of the water.
The man was identified as a labourer from Kavali in Nellore district. On regaining consciousness, he said, “I have been working in the granite quarry from 7 am to 7 pm. They are exploiting my labour but they are paying me. How can one bear such high temperatures for so long?” Tired of his work, he sought relief in the cold water. While the man was stable and had not suffered any serious injuries. On waking up, he asked the police officials, “If you don’t mind, can you give me Rs 50? I will go to Kavali.”
