Telugu New Year, Ramzan: 1,774 special buses

Tamil Nadu: The State Rapid Transport Corporation has announced that 1,774 special buses will be operated on the occasion of the Telugu New Year and the Ramadan holidays.
In this regard, a press release issued by the State Rapid Transport Corporation stated: Due to the Telugu New Year (March 19), Ramadan (March 21), and the weekend holidays, plans are in place to operate special buses—in addition to the daily scheduled services—from Chennai and other locations on Wednesday and Thursday (March 18 and 19).
Accordingly, on Wednesday, 450 buses will depart from Chennai’s Kelambakkam terminus bound for Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, and Tiruppur; on Thursday, 345 buses will be operated on these routes.
Similarly, on Wednesday, 100 buses are scheduled to run from Chennai’s Koyambedu terminus to Tiruvannamalai, Nagai, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru; on Thursday, 90 buses will be operated on these routes. Furthermore, 200 special buses will be run from Bengaluru, Tiruppur, Erode, and Coimbatore to various destinations. Additionally, 24 special buses will be operated from Madhavaram on Thursday and Friday, bringing the total number of special buses to 1,774. Moreover, on Sunday (March 22)—to facilitate the return of passengers from their native places to Chennai and Bengaluru—plans are in place to operate 565 special buses from various locations, as per demand. Therefore, passengers are advised to plan their journeys and make their bookings in advance.
