New Delhi: A car driver deliberately hit a toll plaza employee in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur on Sunday. The employee was seriously injured in the accident. When the car driver allegedly tried to flee without paying the toll, the victim, who worked as a guard, tried to follow the car on foot, which irked the driver and took a U-turn. Trampled the employee.
The entire incident was captured in CCTV. The footage shows the car driver taking a U-turn after driving a long way from the toll plaza site. He returns and overpowers the guard.
Hapur Deputy Superintendent P. Varun Mishra said that the police received information about the incident around 10 am. The incident comes under Pilkhua area. Varun Mishra said that we were told that the accused driver deliberately ran over the toll plaza employee, injuring him. We have registered an FIR under relevant sections of IPC and efforts are on to nab the accused driver. The victim guard was taken to a nearby government hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. His condition is said to be serious. Further investigation of the matter is on.
