The alleged doctor cheated the girl of 21 lakhs
Bilaspur: A girl became a victim of cyber fraud in Bilaspur. On the matrimonial site, a young man befriended the girl by calling himself an NRI. Then he promised to get married and do business. During this, he talked about coming to meet the girl and then on the pretext of getting stuck in the airport, he cheated Rs 21 lakh from her. Police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim of fraud. The matter is of cyber police station.
Range cyber police station in-charge Manoj Nayak said that a 22-year-old girl living in Uslapur had created an ID on Shaadi.com and uploaded her resume. During this, his conversation started with a young man named Dr. Samesh Chhanji. The youth introduced himself as an NRI and sent his resume. After this he also sent the papers of dual citizenship.
During the conversation, the girl did not trust him at first. With this, she started refusing to go abroad. Then the alleged doctor assured her that he would come to India and open his clinic and both would live together. On this the girl came to his words. Shortly after the conversation, the young man called the girl and asked for money in the name of insurance to come to India, on which the girl transferred Rs 25,000 to his account. Then later the alleged doctor called the girl and told that he has reached the airport and is stuck here. He will have to pay Rs 21 lakh. By tricking the girl, he took more than Rs 20 lakh in different ways. After this the young man stopped talking to her. Realizing the fraud, the girl complained to the police, after which the police registered a case against the accused under sections 420 and 43, 66 (d) of the IT Act.
