The Chief Minister advised DMK members to remain vigilant.

Tamil Nadu: Political activity has intensified ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections. Leaders of all major parties are instructing their party workers and polling agents to monitor the voting process with utmost vigilance. In this regard, DMK chief and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has issued important guidelines to party workers.

Ahead of the voting in Tamil Nadu on Thursday (April 23), M.K. Stalin has asked party agents and volunteers to maintain complete vigilance from the beginning to the end of the voting process. In a message to party members, he clearly instructed that all agents should reach their polling stations approximately 90 minutes before the start of voting.

Stalin stated that polling station agents, part-time agents, and team members must be active from the very beginning of the voting process. He also instructed that all agents should be the first to register their votes and pay close attention to the entire process.

He also advised polling agents not to sign Form 17C at the beginning. According to him, signatures should only be made after the votes have been properly verified and tallied. Agents should then keep a copy of that document safely.

The Chief Minister also called for special attention to be paid to the security of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM), Voter Verification Unit, and Control Unit. He directed that all equipment be properly connected to the cables and that the seals be stored safely, without damage.

Stalin also placed special emphasis on the sample voting process. He said that during sample voting, voter registration slips should be carefully checked and compared with the machine count. Furthermore, the sample votes should be checked to ensure that the “zero” is correctly displayed on the machine and that there are no irregularities in the process.

He said that vigilance is essential at every stage of the voting process to ensure that the elections are conducted in a completely transparent and fair manner. Party workers must ensure that there are no irregularities at polling stations and that every vote is recorded correctly.

The state is already buzzing with excitement regarding the upcoming elections, and various parties are busy preparing for their respective elections. These guidelines, issued by the DMK, are aimed at actively monitoring and maintaining transparency in the voting process.

Under the supervision of the Election Commission, preparations have been made to ensure a peaceful and secure election throughout the state, with security measures strengthened. On election day, all polling booths will be closely monitored to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
