Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister Stalin, who visited Trichy district for election campaigning, walked on foot on Wednesday morning to gather votes in support of DMK candidate Iniko Irudayaraju, contesting from Trichy East.
Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will campaign in Trichy and Karur districts today (April 1) in support of DMK and allied candidates. The Chief Minister, who began his campaign tour yesterday from Tiruvarur, the birthplace of former Chief Minister Karunanidhi, arrived in Trichy and stayed there for the night.
Stalin then went for a walk in the Gandhi Market area this morning and roamed around the area to gather votes in support of DMK’s Trichy East candidate Iniko Irudayaraju.
Chief Minister Stalin, who visited a tea stall there, had tea with Ministers K.N. Nehru and Anbil Mahesh Poyyamoshi.
The Chief Minister will attend a campaign meeting at Thennur Uzhava Market in Trichy on Wednesday at 9 a.m. and speak in support of candidates contesting in nine Trichy constituencies. These candidates are K.N. Nehru (Trichy West), Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi (Thiruverumpur), Inigo Udayaraja (Trichy East), P. Abdul Samadhu (Manapparai), S. Durairaj (Srirangam), C. Kathiravan (Mannachanallur), T. Parivalal (Lalgudi), and N.S. Karunairaja (Musiri). The Congress candidate for the Thuraiyur constituency has not yet been announced.
Tamil Nadu Vettri Kalakaazham leader Vijay is contesting from two constituencies, Perambur and Trichy East. As election preparations are in full swing, the election atmosphere in Tamil Nadu is heating up, with the DMK actively campaigning for votes in the Trichy East constituency, where Vijay is contesting.
