The Collector conducted a surprise inspection at the Amakoni paddy procurement center.

Mahasamund. To make the paddy procurement system at minimum support price more efficient and transparent in the district, Collector Mr. Vinay Kumar Langeh conducted a surprise inspection of the Amakoni paddy procurement center under Bagbahara development block on Friday. During the inspection, he thoroughly reviewed all the arrangements related to paddy procurement and gave necessary instructions to the center in-charge and other concerned officials. SDM Bagbahara, Mrs. Namita Markole, the committee manager, center staff, and a large number of farmers were present during the inspection. Collector Mr. Langeh reviewed in detail the status of farmer registration at the procurement center, the paddy weighing process, moisture testing, availability of gunny bags, stock management, and the updated status of online entries. He instructed that the weighing scales be checked to ensure their accuracy and said that farmers should not have any reason to complain about weighing or payment. The Collector clearly stated that the paddy procurement work should be completed in a completely transparent, timely, and smooth manner, as per the government’s intention. He interacted directly with the farmers present at the center and took feedback regarding the procurement process, payment status, and other facilities.

The farmers shared their problems and experiences, on which the Collector instructed the officials to take immediate action. Expressing particular concern about paddy lifting, Collector Mr. Langeh said that there should be no unnecessary storage of paddy at the procurement centers. He instructed that better coordination be established with millers and transport agencies to ensure regular and rapid lifting of paddy. He said that no laxity in the lifting process would be tolerated to prevent damage to the paddy due to rain or other natural causes. In centers where the pace of paddy lifting is slow, immediate improvements should be made, and daily progress should be continuously monitored. The Collector warned that any negligence or irregularity at any level in paddy procurement would not be tolerated.

He instructed the officials to ensure that the arrangements at all procurement centers are uniform and farmer-friendly. It is noteworthy that paddy procurement at minimum support price is continuously underway in the district. Today is the 29th day of paddy procurement, with 22 days remaining. A total of 42,17,789.60 quintals of paddy have been procured so far through the district’s 182 procurement centers. This includes 34,39,240.40 quintals of coarse paddy, 198 quintals of fine paddy, and 7,78,351.20 quintals of Sarna paddy. Meanwhile, 7,29,869.38 quintals of paddy have been lifted so far.
