The Collector held a joint meeting of the nodal officers of the paddy procurement centers.

In Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district, with the objective of conducting paddy procurement at support price in a transparent, systematic manner and in accordance with government directives, Collector Dr. Sanjay Kannauje held a joint meeting of nodal officers of paddy procurement centers in the Collectorate meeting hall. In this meeting, Patwaris (revenue officials) and agricultural extension officers were given clear instructions to be compulsorily present at their respective paddy procurement centers on every working day and to register their attendance on the Satark app. Collector Dr. Kannauje said that paddy procurement is an important government scheme, and any kind of negligence or irregularity will not be tolerated. He said that all nodal officers should ensure strict adherence to the guidelines issued by the state government. Ensuring that farmers do not face any inconvenience at the paddy procurement centers is the primary responsibility of the administration.
During the meeting, the Collector instructed officials to keep a close watch on illegal paddy storage, illegal transportation, and the activities of middlemen. He said that if illegal storage or transportation of paddy is found anywhere in the district, the information should be immediately reported to higher authorities. In such cases, coordinated action should be taken with the concerned departments for prompt seizure. The Collector clarified that strict action against illegal activities is necessary to protect the interests of genuine farmers. Dr. Kannauje said that Patwaris and agricultural extension officers are the eyes and ears of the government at the ground level. Therefore, their role is extremely important.
He instructed all officers to continuously monitor the weighing process, moisture testing, availability of gunny bags, online entry, and stock status at the paddy procurement centers. Any irregularities found should be acted upon immediately. The Collector also said that registering attendance through the Satark app is mandatory to ensure that nodal officers are regularly discharging their duties. He warned that if any officer is found negligent or absent, action will be taken against them as per rules. The officers present at the meeting were also instructed to work in coordination with each other. The Collector stated that the revenue, agriculture, food, and cooperative departments all have a joint role in the paddy procurement process. He instructed all departments to work in coordination with each other so that the paddy procurement process can be completed smoothly and on time.
