The company reduced the weight of the new Alto by 100 kg

When Suzuki launched the first generation Alto, it weighed 545 kg. In the ninth generation, the weight increased to 680 kg. The 7th generation Alto had a maximum weight of 740 kg. With the new Heartect platform, the company has been able to reduce the weight of the Alto by more than 100 kg. In such a situation, the 8th generation Alto weighed 620 kg. Suzuki uses this method to further reduce the weight of this hatchback model. The current Alto model weighs 680 kg. The new Alto will weigh around 580 kg.
To reduce weight, the company is able to use lightweight materials for various parts of the car. This is similar to the way the company reduced weight by installing a new Z12 engine in the new Swift. It is a lightweight and very efficient engine. The company also uses it in other Maruti vehicles like Wagon R, Dzire, Baleno and Frontex. The 10th generation Alto is likely to use an advanced version of the Heartect platform. The Heartect platform is lightweight and made of high-strength steel. This increases the safety of passengers in case of an accident.
At the same time, the fuel efficiency of the CNG version is 33.85 km/kg. The 10th generation Alto is 100 kg lighter and can achieve a fuel efficiency of around 30 kmph. The mileage of the CNG version can increase to 37-38 km/kg.
