Jashpur. A sensational case of cow smuggling has come to light in the district. The smugglers were transporting 10 cows in a pickup truck from Chhattisgarh to Jharkhand. When police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away, causing the vehicle to overturn, killing three cows on the spot. The smugglers fled the scene. This incident occurred in the Tapkara police station area.
According to information, Tapkara police received information about cow smuggling. During night patrol, police attempted to stop the suspicious pickup truck. Upon seeing the police, the driver increased speed and began fleeing. Due to the high speed, the pickup truck lost control and overturned into a roadside ditch near village Sajbahar. Three of the 10 cows in the pickup truck died on the spot, while the others were injured.
Immediately after the accident, the smugglers in the pickup truck took advantage of the situation and fled. Tapkara police arrived at the scene and took action to transport the injured cows to safety. Police have seized the accident-prone pickup vehicle and registered a case against unknown smugglers under the Cow Protection Act and other relevant sections. A search is currently underway for the absconding suspects.
