The minimum temperature of Shimla, Kufri and Dharamshala is more than 5 degrees
Shimla. People of many areas of the state including the capital Shimla are still waiting for rain and snowfall. On the other hand, the night temperature in the higher areas of the state is above 5 degrees. Under this, the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.6 degrees Celsius in Shimla, 8.2 in Dharamshala, 8.1 in Nahan, 5.2 in Palampur, 6.2 in Kangra and 7.4 degrees Celsius in Kufri.
However, the minimum temperature of many cities is below 5 degrees. Under this, the minimum temperature was recorded at 1.6 degree Celsius in Sundernagar, 1.1 in Bhuntar, 2 in Kalpa, 3.4 in Una, 3.6 in Solan, 2.5 in Mandi, 4.4 in Chamba, 4.8 in Narkanda and 4.1 degree Celsius in Reckong Peo. Except Samdo, the minimum temperature of any city in the state has not been recorded in minus.
Only Samdo has recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.3 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, there are chances of snowfall in the state on New Year. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and snowfall in the central and high hilly areas of the state on December 30 and 31. According to the department, the weather will remain dry till December 29.
