Durg. A case of theft worth lakhs has come to light in a grain shop located just 100 meters away from the Kotwali police station in the city. The thief arrived at night with a rod and scissors. Broke three locks of the shop and stole around Rs 2.25 lakh and silver puja utensils from inside. Kotwali police is investigating the matter.
Shop operator Deepak Jain told that his grain shop is located in Ganjpara of Durg. He and Chandan Jain see him. Like every day on Sunday, they closed the shop and went to their homes at night. Meanwhile, a thief reached the shop with a rod and scissors.
With his help, he broke three big locks of the shop and then entered inside the shop. After this, he broke the basket and stole about Rs 1 lakh 75 thousand in cash and goods worth about Rs 2 lakh including silver garlands and puja utensils and went away.
