The murderer who killed mother and son and burnt the dead body was arrested in Bhilai, made many revelations during interrogation
Raigarh: The case has been solved with the semi-burnt bodies of a woman and a child found nine days ago in Paravat on the Bilaspur-Jharsuguda National Highway in Raigarh. The murderer of the mother and son was none other than the woman’s lover. After a dispute with his girlfriend, the accused brutally murdered the woman and her son and threw the bodies in a heap of garbage. After this, fearing that the accused would be caught, they poured petrol on both the bodies and set them on fire. Police have arrested the accused from Bhilai. The name of the accused is Suraj Gupta, who was absconding in a fraud case.
In fact, on the morning of 27th November, police had received information about half-burnt bodies of a woman and children being found in Paravat in village Netnagar of Raigarh. Police station in-charge Jutmil Ramkinkar Yadav reached the spot and informed the senior officials. SSP Sadanand Kumar, Additional SP Sanjay Mahadeva, CSP Abhinav Upadhyay, Cyber Cell and forensic team reached the spot, inspected the body, the incident site, interrogated the villagers and immediately got involved in the investigation. On inspection of the incident site and the dead body, the police expressed suspicion that the body was burnt in Paravat to escape from the police after murder.
On analysis of Nidhi’s mobile number, the police team came to know that other numbers were active on the mobile and while investigating, the police took the location of suspect Suraj Gupta. The accused had fled to Mumbai while hiding from the police. Immediately on the instructions of SSP Sadanand Kumar, a team led by DSP Aman Lakhisarani left for Pune. While the suspect Suraj Gupta was switching his mobile off and on to mislead the police, when his mobile was switched on, the next location was found to be Durg-Bhilai. The team that left for Pune reached Bhilai where the accused Suraj Gupta was planning to hide his identity and stay in a PG on rent by taking a new phone and SIM. The team detained the accused from Priyadarshini complex in Bhilai. On interrogation, he confessed to killing Nidhi Ausaria and her son Parth and burning the bodies in a roadside paravat on the Bilaspur-Jharsuguda highway.
Accused Suraj Gupta, father Suresh Gupta, age 41 years, resident of Himalaya Heights, Devpuri Raipur. Recently lived in Shanti Nagar Bilaspur and formerly worked in a real estate company. The accused told that he had defrauded the client of the money and lived in Bilaspur with Nidhi Ausaria, a married woman working in the company, and her son Parth. Suraj Gupta and Nidhi were already married and were living like husband and wife in Bilaspur for some time.
