The nurse was negligent while sleeping, family members created ruckus over the death of the newborn

Korba. There is panic in the health department after the death of a newborn baby in the District Medical College. The family members have accused the nurse on duty of negligence and said that the nurse gave excessive amount of medicine to the baby while sleeping during the night shift, due to which the newborn died.

The family members of pregnant Putum Singh, resident of Balko, have complained about this matter in Civil Line police station. Police have registered the case and are busy investigating. Police is taking statements of family members. The post mortem of the newborn baby has been done. Dr. Anmol Madhuramiyya of District Medical College said, a five-member team including two doctors is investigating. The investigation report will be submitted within 10 days. If negligence is found, action will definitely be taken.
