The roar of ‘Gadar 2’ reached beyond 200 crores, the magic of Akshay and Rajinikanth’s films also remained intact

‘Gadar 2’ was released around Independence Day keeping in mind. This decision of the filmmakers proved to be absolutely correct. The film is continuously making a splash at the box office. Theaters are housefull. The audience is enjoying this film tremendously. Sunny Deol’s (Tara Singh) dialogues and action scenes are making people whistle in theatres.
Even at the age of 66, Sunny managed to show the same enthusiasm which he showed in ‘Gadar’ 22 years ago. Other actors including Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, Manish Wadhwa also managed to do justice to their characters. However, let us talk about the earnings of the film on the 5th day i.e. Independence Day (August 15). According to the report of Sacnilk, ‘Gadar 2’ collected around Rs 55.5 crore in the country on Tuesday.
With this, the film has so far done a lifetime net business of Rs 229 crore at the domestic box office. The film collected 40 crores on the first day of its release on 11 August, 43 crores on the second day, 50 crores on the third day and 38.70 crores on the fourth day. Gadar 2 has also been directed by Anil Sharma.
‘OMG 2’ slowly moving towards 100 crores, ‘Jailor’…
Directed by Amit Rai, ‘OMG 2’ is based on sex education. This film may have got an A certificate, but there was no significant difference in its earnings. The film has also done excellent business on the occasion of Independence Day. As per Sacnilk report, it did a business of Rs 18.50 crore on Tuesday. That is, its total earning has become Rs 73.67 crore.
OMG 2 earned 10.26 crores on its opening day on 11th August, 15.30 crores on Saturday, 17.55 crores on Sunday and 12.06 crores on Monday. The film is a sequel to the 2012 film OMG – Oh My God starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. It featured Pankaj Tripathi in the role of Kantisaran Mudgal, a devotee of Lord Shiva. Akshay plays the role of God’s messenger and Yami Gautam is in the role of a lawyer. Akshay has tried to explain a serious issue like adult education in the film with simplicity.
On the other hand, South Indian superstar Rajinikanth’s film ‘Jailor’ is also getting a strong response from the fans. Although now she is behind ‘Gadar 2’. Jailer earned Rs 33 crore on Tuesday, the sixth day. Its total earning has gone up to Rs 207.15 crore. On August 10, Jailer earned Rs 48.35 crore on the first day, Rs 25.75 crore on the second day, Rs 34.30 crore on the third day, Rs 42.20 crore on the fourth day and Rs 23.55 crore on the fifth day.
