The robbers escaped with jewelery after shooting the shop owner, the incident shocked people
Bengaluru: A gang of four robbers shot a jewelery shop owner in broad daylight and decamped with over 1 kg of gold jewelery in Byadarahalli police station limits on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Thursday.
Shop owner Manoj was taken to the hospital and is out of danger. According to the police, four robbers came on two bikes and entered Vinayak Jewelers located on Pipeline Road in Bayadarahalli.
The robbers threatened the owner Manoj with a gun and tried to rob the jewelery shop. When Manoj protested, one of the robbers shot him in the leg and looted the gold jewelery kept in the shop and fled. After receiving the information, police reached the spot and started investigation. Police are collecting CCTV footage and information. This incident, which happened in broad daylight at a crowded place, has shocked people.
West DCP S. Girish said, “Around 10.45 am, four people on two bikes entered the Vinayak Jewelers shop and looted gold jewelery weighing about 1 kg.
One of them shot the shop owner in the thigh. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment, where their condition is out of danger. We have some leads and we are working on it.”
