New Delhi (IANS). Former fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad expressed his disappointment over Team India’s poor performance in the second T20 match against the West Indies. Along with this, questions have also been raised on the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.

Actually, Team India, which captured the Test and ODI series against the West Indies, is behind 0-2 in the five-match T20 series due to its mistakes.

After this poor performance of the team, former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad has raised many questions. He described the team’s effort as “very mediocre” and said the team lacked the hunger to win.

Venkatesh Prasad tweeted, “Team India’s performance has been very average. No point in ignoring it. After 2007 T20 World Cup, IPL started and we haven’t won T20 World Cup in 7 attempts since then. Just Made it to the finals once, because the hunger and passion to win is no longer visible in the team.”

Not only this, Prasad also questioned the Indian captain’s strategy for not giving Yuzvendra Chahal the last over of his quota in the second match.

In this tweet, he further talked about the match and said, “Yuji took 2 wickets in the 16th over and brought India back into the game. Then West Indies had lost 8 wickets. After that they got their last wicket in front of 9th and 10th batsman. Did not get a chance to over. After this, the West Indies batsmen easily faced the fast bowlers and won the match. You should not go by book knowledge at such times but by your mind.

Questions are also being raised on Hardik’s decision because West Indies needed 24 runs in 24 balls. In the 16th over, Chahal made a strong comeback for Team India in the match. Chahal’s ball was spinning a lot and he had one over left. But Pandya did not make him the 18th over and expressed confidence in the fast bowlers.
