The supplier of narcotic injections was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Bilaspur. The court has sentenced a drug dealer to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of ₹1 lakh. On June 22, 2023, ASI Rajeshwardhar Diwan of Civil Line Police Station received information that Dhannu alias Gurudayal Kashyap, residing in a rented house near Kududand Gayatri Temple, was selling narcotic injections. He raided the location, apprehended Dhannu, and recovered 6400 banned injections. The seized injections were valued at ₹1,75,500. The accused youth was arrested under the NDPS Act, and after investigation, a charge sheet was filed in court. Upon finding him guilty, the court sentenced Dhannu alias Gurudayal Kashyap to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹1 lakh.
Police raided the homes of bookies in the city who had been running cricket betting operations for a long time. During the raids, 2 to 3 bookies were apprehended. The police action has caused panic among the bookies. SSP Rajnesh Singh, ahead of the upcoming IPL season, instructed Civil Line CSP Nimitesh Singh Parihar to form a separate team to gather intelligence on organized cricket betting operators in the city and conduct raids on their homes. CSP Parihar, on Tuesday, formed teams of police personnel from different police stations and raided the homes of bookies involved in cricket betting in the city. The sudden police action caused panic among the city’s bookies. Many bookies fled the city. The police have apprehended three or four bookies and are currently interrogating them. SSP Singh said that the Civil Line CSP has been instructed to form a team and take action against those involved in cricket betting in the city.
