Theft in a farm house, accused arrested with solar pump
Raigarh. About a month ago, on October 14, Banchanidhi Pradhan, a resident of village Potra, filed an application at Lailunga police station regarding the theft of a solar motor pump by an unknown thief from the camera built in his farm house on the night of August 14-15. The reporter said that for security reasons, Bor used to lock his house every day in the evening and come home.
When I went to the farm in the morning on 15th August, I saw that an unknown thief had broken the lock of the house and stolen the 3 horse power solar pump kept inside. Lailunga police had registered a case of rape against an unknown accused under Section 457, 380 IPC and were searching for the accused.
Meanwhile, during the village visit, Lailunga police station in-charge Inspector Mohan Bhardwaj received information from the informer that Khilendra Chauhan alias Pawan of village Rudukela was looking for a customer to sell a stolen motor pump. Immediately the police station in-charge sent staff to village Rudukela for verification.
When the police team detained the suspect Khilendra Chauhan alias Pawan and interrogated him strictly regarding the solar pump, he told that he along with his partner had stolen the pump from village Potra one and a half to two months ago. After taking the memorandum statement of accused Khilendra Chauhan alias Paanwa, father Kamalsai Chauhan, age 21, resident of Rudukela police station, Lailunga district, Raigarh, at the behest of the accused, 3 horse power solar pump worth ₹ 15,000 stolen from his house was recovered. Accused Khilendra Chauhan’s associate was found absconding from his house and his whereabouts are being investigated. The arrested accused Khilendra Chauhan has been sent on remand for the crime of Nakbajani.
