Theft worth lakhs from businessman’s house
Raipur : Thieves stole jewelery and cash worth more than Rs 15 lakh from a house in the rich and elite area of Samta Colony. According to Azad Chowk Police, this incident happened on Saturday. Unknown thieves entered the house of Saket Singhania, resident of Samta Colony, by breaking the rear window and ran away with Rs 1.50 lakh in cash along with jewelery and diamonds kept in the cupboard of the room. The value of the jewelery has been estimated at Rs 14 lakh. The Singhania family was not at home at the time of the incident. On returning, the theft was discovered after seeing the house in disarray. Saket lodged a case under section 457,380 at Azad Chowk police station this morning.
In two other cases, thieves ran away with jewelery from a house that was locked for four days and a motorcycle parked near the bank. Police have registered the crime and are investigating. According to Kotwali police, the house of Narendra Jain, resident of Shailendra Nagar C-294, was closed from November 14 to November 17. They had gone out for some family work.
