Theft worth lakhs in girls school, thief broke half a dozen locks

Hisar. Shivlal Singla Senior Girls Secondary School, located on Lal Road, Hansi, entered the school by jumping the main gate and created havoc in the school. The thief broke more than half a dozen locks of the cupboard, library and other rooms inside the school. The theft incident came to light on Tuesday morning when a class IV employee reached the school to clean it. He saw that the locks of many rooms and the cupboards kept in them were broken and things were scattered in the rooms. After this, the fourth class employee informed the matter to the school principal Purnima Gupta. He called dial 112 and informed about the theft in the school. On receiving the information, Dial 112 and Qila Bazar outpost police inspected the school premises.

School Principal Purnima Gupta said that the entire theft incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the school. He told that after entering the school, the thief broke the locks on the gallery gate and entered the school building. After that, the first thing to do was break the CCTV camera installed in the computer lab. The locks on the gates of the language lab, computer lab and gallery were broken. The cupboard drawers kept in the rooms were searched and the things kept in them scattered in the room. Purnima Gupta told that a student’s tablet and an exhaust fan kept in the school were found missing and the CCTV camera installed in the computer lab was also damaged by the thief. Apart from this, their belongings are being inspected by the concerned teachers. On the other hand, the police inspected the incident site, collected CCTV footage and other evidence and started investigating the matter.
