There is an atmosphere of fear in Punjab, gangsters are ruling: Raja Warring

Punjab: Punjab Congress President and Ludhiana MP Amarinder Singh Raja Warring said today that there is an atmosphere of fear in Punjab and no one feels safe because gangsters are ruling the roost. Speaking during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, Warring raised the issue of deteriorating law and order in the state. He said gangsters are threatening and intimidating people for ransom.
The Ludhiana MP said that people are receiving threatening calls from jails and abroad. Warring alleged, “The state government has failed to provide security to people in the state. Gangsters have deeply penetrated the political system. The Shiromani Akali Dal fielded a close relative of a gangster as a candidate in the Tarn Taran Assembly by-election.”
The Congress MP also alleged that the Gujarat government is providing protection to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Warring alleged, “There are specific orders from the Gujarat government that protect Bishnoi from being arrested by the police of other states where he is involved in serious crimes.” The Ludhiana MP said that not only common people but also politicians and senior officials have started receiving ransom calls from gangsters.
