There is good news for government employees
According to Shiv Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of All India Railwaymen’s Federation, if DA is increased this time, it may increase by three percent. He said that we are demanding 4 percent increase in DA. If the government accepts this, then the DA of central employees will increase to 46 percent. If an employee gets a basic salary of Rs 36,500 per month, his DA is currently Rs 15,330. If there is a three percent increase in DA from July 2023, then their DA will increase by Rs 1,095 to Rs 16,425. Besides, arrears will also be received from July.
The Central Government has not paid DA to its employees during the Corona period for 18 months i.e. between 1 January 2020 and 30 June 2021. Similarly, dearness relief i.e. DR was not paid to the pensioners during this period. Its objective was to reduce the financial burden on the government. This decision saved the government Rs 34,402.32 crore. Employees have been demanding its payment for a long time. But today the government made it clear that it will not be paid. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary gave this information in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
