Kasganj: A video depicting an assault on police officers has emerged in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. The incident unfolded when the police arrived at the location of a case involving the alleged molestation of a girl. However, at the scene, aggressors attacked the officers. They not only subjected the police to a brutal beating but also ripped their uniforms. Amidst this ordeal, one of the policemen pleaded with folded hands for the attackers to spare him, but his pleas fell on deaf ears. The video of this incident went viral, causing a commotion within the police department. The video contains offensive language.
Currently, the police have filed a case against the assailants and initiated an investigation. Special teams have been mobilized to apprehend those responsible for assaulting the police. At this moment, three individuals have been named in the case. The Kasganj Superintendent of Police (SP) affirmed that stern actions will be taken against the culprits.
The SP of Kasganj explained that on the night of November 6, an alert was received via the emergency dial number 112 for PRV 1146 in Kadarganj village within the jurisdiction of Sikandarpur Vaishya police station. Constables from the PRV (police vehicle) responded to the call to conduct an inquiry. It was during this inquiry that the policemen encountered misconduct from a resident named Hemchandra Jatav and his associates.

Upon receiving information, the station in-charge of Sikandarpur police station visited the scene of the incident to assess the situation. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation. A case has been registered under relevant legal provisions, and an inquiry has been initiated.
In the video that has gone viral, police officers are seen sitting inside their vehicle, while a crowd of people gathers outside. Some individuals are seen physically assaulting the officers and tugging at their uniforms. During these events, the officers are subjected to verbal abuse, and they can be observed appealing with folded hands for their release.
On the contrary, local residents claim that the police officers were engaged in unlawful extortion. The individuals who confronted the officers, displaying no fear of their uniforms, not only assaulted the police personnel assigned to the PRV (police vehicle) but also caused damage to the vehicle. This resulted in the assault of two policemen, including the head constable.
Following the release of the video depicting the incident, the police have filed a case against the three troublemakers, one of whom has been identified. However, even though two days have elapsed since the incident, all three accused individuals remain at large and have not been apprehended by the police.
