Tamil Nadu: Amidst the ongoing fuel price changes in the country, CNG prices have also been increased after petrol and diesel. On Friday morning, the price of CNG in Delhi was increased by ₹2 per kg, increasing the financial burden on ordinary consumers.
According to reports, international crude oil prices have been rising in recent days. The reasons for this are being attributed to the situation regarding the control of the Strait of Hormuz, ongoing tensions in West Asia, and the impact on the global supply chain. These circumstances have posed numerous challenges for oil companies, the impact of which is clearly visible in the domestic market.
After a gap of a few months, petrol and diesel prices have also been increased by ₹3 per liter across the country. Following this increase, fuel prices have reached new highs in many cities. For example, in Chennai, petrol prices have reached ₹103.67 per liter and diesel ₹95.25 per liter.
In a similar vein, the price of CNG in Delhi has also been increased to ₹79.09 per kg. Previously, the price was ₹77.09 per kg. This represents a direct increase of ₹2 per kg. This is expected to increase the cost of CNG vehicle users, particularly taxis, autos, and commercial vehicles.
Before Delhi, CNG prices were also increased in Mumbai. Mahanagar Gas Limited raised CNG prices by ₹2 per kg on Thursday. A similar increase has now been implemented in Delhi, making it clear that CNG prices are trending in a similar direction across major cities.
Experts believe that fluctuations in international crude oil prices and geopolitical tensions directly impact the Indian energy market. Consequently, changes in fuel prices are likely in the future.
