New Delhi: On the occasion of Yoga Day, sailors were doing yoga on the Indian Navy’s warship INS Talwar. When we looked behind them, we found that INS Talwar has been upgraded. Universal Vertical Launcher Modules (UVLM) that launch Brahmos missiles have now been installed in it.
Now whether it is Pakistan or China… INS Talwar will give a befitting reply to the warships of both. In future, UVLMs that fire Brahmos will be installed on other warships of this class as well. Warship Talwar is a stealth guided missile frigate. So far, 7 warships of this Talwar class have been built. 6 are active.
Four new warships are being built. Two will be built in Russia and two in India. The displacement of these warships in the sea is 3850 tonnes. Their length is 409.5 feet, beam is 49.10 feet and draught is 13.9 feet.
These warships run at a maximum speed of 59 km/hr in the sea. If their speed is made 26 km/hr, then they cover a range of 4850 km. If run at a speed of 56 km/hr, then it will go up to a range of 2600 km.
INS Talwar can stay in the sea for 30 days with 180 soldiers including 18 officers. After that, it has to be refueled and supplied with food. These warships are equipped with electronic warfare systems. Also, 4 KT-216 decoy launchers are installed. Apart from this, 24 Shtil-1 medium range missiles are deployed in it.

8 Igla-1E, 8 Vertical Launch Anti-Ship Missile Club, 8 Vertical Launch Anti-Ship and Land Attack Brahmos missiles are also deployed. It has a 100 mm A-190E naval gun. Apart from this, a 76 mm Oto Melara naval gun is installed. 2 AK-630 CIWS and 2 Kashtan CIWS guns are installed.
Apart from these dangerous guns, there are two 533 mm torpedo tubes. A rocket launcher has also been deployed. This warship can be equipped with a Kamov-28 or a Kamov-31 or Dhruv helicopter.
