Thoothukudi: Railway track damaged due to heavy rains

Thoothukudi: Thoothukudi Railway track at Alvarathirunagari has been damaged due to heavy rains in Thoothukudi district and repair work is going on. Tamil Nadu is battling the havoc of cyclone and floods.

Telangana and Puducherry Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan visited the flood-affected areas of Thoothukudi and accused the MK Stalin government in the state of “mishandling the situation”.

So far, 35 deaths have been reported due to the floods, including 22 in Thoothukudi district and 13 in Tirunelveli.

Following the devastating Cyclone Michong, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured support to Tamil Nadu and appointed Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to assess the flood situation. In a post on Twitter, Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed his gratitude for the Prime Minister’s immediate attention to the serious situation.
