Those who destroyed the Ailamma statue should be punished: Narlagiri Ramalingam

Kazipet: Chakali Ailamma Statue Praising Committee Chairman and former Corporator Narlagiri Ramalingam has demanded that the culprits who destroyed the statue of Veeranari Chakali Ailamma should be arrested immediately and punished severely. Many people visited the site of the destruction of the statue of Veeranari Chakali Ailamma near Fatima Nagar in the 61st division of Kazipet town on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that unknown people had damaged the right hand of the Chakali Ailamma statue located in the heart of the town. He said that in the past too, the cement slab had been dug up and the Ailamma statue had been stolen.

He alleged that some people had carried out this attack out of a bias that the statue of Ailamma should not be placed next to the statue of Mother Teresa in a way that incited religious hatred. He warned that we should not sit idly by. Some people are trying to protect the statue of Mother Teresa, who was born and raised somewhere. He questioned how justified it was for a leader from the same district, who is known as a brave woman, to attack the statue.

He said it was very sad that the police had not yet identified those who destroyed the statue. He demanded that the police department and municipal officials catch and punish the traitors as soon as possible, and that the government install another statue in the same place.
