Three killed in road accident in Karnataka

Bagalkot (IANS) | Three people riding a bike were killed when they were hit by a truck in Karnataka’s Bagalkot district in the early hours of Friday. The deceased have been identified as Srinakath Madar (39), Shantava Kattimani (43) and Mantavva Maradi (75). All of them are residents of Rakkasagi village in Hunagund taluk.

Srikanth died on the spot, while both the women succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital.

According to the police, before hitting the bike, the truck collided with a car near Aminagarh town and fearing being caught, the driver fled the spot with the vehicle, thankfully the occupants of the car had a narrow escape.

After walking three kilometers, the truck driver hit a bike, killing all three riders. The truck also overturned there. Fortunately, there was no other vehicle on the road at that time.

After this he fled from the spot. Aminagarh police have registered a case and started searching for the driver.
