Going into details.. Rehan Rahim Sheikh (35) from Surat went out on his two-wheeler with his wife Rehana and 10-year-old daughter Ayesha on Wednesday. When he reached the Chandrashekhar Azad flyover, suddenly a kite string (manja) came in their way and wrapped itself around the bike. When they tried to remove it by hand, they lost control and hit the divider and fell from the 70-feet high flyover. They fell on an autorickshaw parked below.

Rehan and Ayesha died on the spot in the accident. Rehana, who was critically injured, was rushed to a nearby hospital. Rehana also passed away on Thursday night while undergoing treatment there. The incident has created a stir locally. In this context, people have been advised to be vigilant with kite flying. They have warned that strict action will be taken if the banned Chinese flying kite is used.
