Three poachers arrested in Similipal Tiger Reserve, seize gun
Baripada: Three more poachers were arrested from the core area of the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district today and seized a country-made gun from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, the forest official conducted the raid in Telasakei village and arrested the three poachers and seized a country-made gun from their possession, informed Samrat Goud, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Similipal Tiger Conservation Project (South Division).
The arrested persons have been identified as Baigo Ho, Gansha Ho and Gosha Ho, all residents of Telasakei village in Badakhman panchayat under Kaptipada police limits of the district, Goud informed.
The poachers’ medical examination and paper works are being done to forward them to court on Monday, he added.
