Three stone idols were found in the Cooum River near Tiruvallur.

Tamil Nadu: After three stone idols were discovered in the Cooum River near Tiruvallur, people watched with curiosity as revenue officials took them away for examination.

On Sunday, some young men from the area were bathing in the Sattara Cooum River in the Kadampattur Panchayat Union near Tiruvallur. While bathing, they discovered three ancient stone idols scattered in the riverbed.

They then informed the local residents. Upon learning about the ancient stone idols, a large number of people from Sattara, Kadampattur, Mappedu, Kilacheri, Cooum, Perambakkam, Chittampakkam, and Narasimhapuram areas gathered to see the idols.

The Tiruvallur Taluk office was also informed. Following orders from Taluk Officer Balaji, revenue department officials went to the site. They retrieved the ancient stone idols, which were approximately three to four feet tall, from the Cooum River, brought them to the Tiruvallur Taluk office, and safely stored them in the storage room.

Officials stated that they would only be able to determine the name and age of the idols after conducting an examination.
