Three teenagers drown in Tamil Nadu’s Erode, bodies of two found

Chennai (IANS). Three teenagers drowned in the Cauvery river in Tamil Nadu’s Erode on Thursday. The deceased have been identified as 19-year-old Kuppuraj, 15-year-old Jagdish and 14-year-old Chowdhary.

Police said a group of people from Kongalamman Colony in Erode had gone to the Maduraveeran temple on the river bank. The three teenagers wade into the river and the oil gets washed away with the current.

Locals tried to save the boys but could not. The fire and rescue services and the Kodumudi police have recovered the bodies of two teenagers while the search is on for the third.
