Jalandhar: Disaster management training programme concludes

Jalandhar: A seven-day state-level training program under the Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme (YAMS) recently concluded at Lamarin Tech Skills University (LTSU), Punjab. The program was sponsored by the National Disaster Management Authority, Government of India, and the Punjab State Disaster Management Authority. The event was organized by the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Government of Punjab.
The final day began with an intensive practical session for MGSIPA training officers. Trainees actively participated in hands-on demonstrations focusing on emergency response, rescue procedures, and disaster-preparedness techniques. Through practical exposure, the event aimed to help students understand the real-world application of disaster management skills.
Sohanu, Assistant Professor and NSS Program Officer, delivered a lecture on “Man-Made Disasters: Cybercrime.” Following the academic session, volunteers showcased their talents in a cultural program, followed by an interactive feedback session. The seven-day program aimed to provide trainees with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence they need to function effectively during emergencies.
