Today is the last day to get your name added to the voter list in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu: The Election Commission’s deadline for adding your name to the voter list expires on Sunday (January 18).
According to the draft voter list released on December 19th, 9.738 million voters were removed from Tamil Nadu. This reduced the total number of voters in Tamil Nadu from 64,114,587 to 54,376,756.
Of those removed, 6,644,881 were homeless, 2,694,672 were deceased, and 398,278 were dually registered.
Those whose names were removed from the draft voter list have been given time from December 19th to January 18th to add their names, and those who have turned 18 years old have been given time to add new names.
Special camps were held twice on weekends, on Saturdays and Sundays. As of January 16, 1,280,668 voters have submitted Form 6. These forms will be verified, and the final voter list will be published on February 17.
Parties request extension: Due to festive holidays like Christmas, New Year, and Pongal, parties including the BJP and the Marxist Party have already requested extensions for filing nominations.
On Saturday, Humanity People’s Party leader M.H. Jawahirullah also demanded that the deadline for the special revision of voter lists be extended in Tamil Nadu, similar to that in Puducherry.
