Tripura High Court transfers judge accused of sexually assaulting rape victim to his chamber

C According to Live Law, the Tripura High Court has transferred Kamalpur Civil Judge Biswatosh Dhar, accused of sexually assaulting a rape victim in his chambers.

Bar and Bench pointed out that a notification issued by the High Court on February 23 stated that the accused judicial officer was being transferred to the High Court and would be placed on mandatory waiting list for future posting.
A three-member panel headed by Dhalai District and Sessions Judge Gautam Sarkar had started investigating the rape victim’s allegation.
The woman alleged that the incident of sexual assault took place on February 16 when she had gone to the chambers of the First Class Judicial Magistrate, Kamalpur, to record her statement regarding her rape.
