Rahul Ramakrishna: Urges ban on Paraquat after brother’s death

A great tragedy has befallen the family of renowned actor and film writer Rahul Ramakrishna. His brother died due to Paraquat, a highly dangerous herbicide. Rahul Ramakrishna’s tweet on social media sharing this tragic news has now become a topic of discussion. Expressing deep grief over the incident, he explained how easily deadly chemicals like Paraquat are available in the market. He said that even doctors are shocked to see the number of deaths due to this poisoning.
To this end, Rahul Ramakrishna made a public appeal to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office (Telangana CMO). He expressed concern that paraquat is a very powerful chemical, and since there is no antidote for it, it completely damages the lungs, kidneys and liver as soon as it enters the body. He explained that this poison is not only available in the markets but also in e-commerce sites in the name of agricultural needs, and it is being used extensively for suicides. He urged the governments to immediately ban such a deadly drug and save more lives. The demand to impose restrictions on this chemical, which has already been banned in many countries, is receiving large-scale support from netizens.
