Truck fell into ditch, four people died

Jammu: Four people lost their lives when a truck going from Srinagar to Rajasthan fell into a ditch in Jhajjar Kotli area on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Police gave this information.

Police said that four people died in the accident on Thursday night. Visuals from the scene showed that the truck was in a completely destroyed condition.

More details about the incident are awaited.

Earlier, in May, at least ten people were killed and around 55 were injured in a similar incident where a bus fell into a deep gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

According to officials, the bus was going from Amritsar to Katra when the incident occurred near Jhajjar Kotli, about 15 km from Katra in Jammu district.

Jammu SSP Chandan Kohli said, “10 people died and around 55 were injured.”
The SSP further said that there were more passengers in the bus than the prescribed limit. (ANI)
