‘Truly Historical’ PM Modi Applauds India’s 4x400m Relay Team For Setting New Asian Record
The Indian men’s 4×100 relay team created history by finishing second in the first heat and also qualified for their first-ever World Athletics Championships 2023 finals. Indian team consisting of Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Amoj Jacob, Muhammed Ajmal Variyathodi and Rajesh Ramesh clocked a time of 02:59:05 seconds and also created a new Asian and National record. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the Indian athletes for achieving the historic feat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered his wishes to the Indian men’s 4×100 relay team after they created history at the World Athletics Championships 2023 in Budapest. PM Modi took to his X (formerly known as Twitter) account and wrote:
“Incredible teamwork at the World Athletics Championships! Anas, Amoj, Rajesh Ramesh and Muhammed Ajmal sprinted into the finals, setting a new Asian Record in the M 4X400m Relay. This will be remembered as a triumphant comeback, truly historical for Indian athletics.”

Apart from the Indian runners, fans will also eye the javelin throw final event in the WAC 2023 on August 27, 2023. The Indian athlete has been performing significantly well after securing a gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Chopra is favourites to win gold in the World Athletics Championships 2023, as he also finished first in the Group A qualifying round of the event. His 88.77m throw also earned him a place in the Paris Olympics 2024.
