Tshahi Halevi sings popular Arabic song ‘Wayk’ for film ‘Akeli’
New Delhi (IANS). Apart from acting in his Bollywood debut film ‘Akeli’, actor Tsahi Halevi has also sung a song. Tsahi Halevi is also an excellent singer.
He has lent his melodious voice to sing a part of a famous Arabic song for a scene in the film, in which he is acting with Nushrat Bharucha.
The love song titled ‘Waik’ is a popular Arabic track. Tsahi has beautifully rendered the song using the Uzbeki instrumental arrangement.
Director Pranay Meshram said about the song in the film, “When Tsahi came up with the idea of adding an Arabic song to me, I was intrigued and after listening to the song, I loved it. It is a famous Arabic song.
He wanted to record the song using a native Arabic instrument called the saj, which was arranged for him. Amazingly Tsahi learned the strings within a few hours and was up for the challenge.
Tsahi shares, “While shooting for this intense scene in ‘Akeli’, I came up with the idea of incorporating the Arabic song ‘Waik’, which is one of my favorite songs. It’s a dark scene where my character is being tortured. And somehow her singing this song, which is a love song, makes the scene even more interesting.”
Featuring an international star cast including Nusrat, Amir Boutros and Tsahi, ‘Akeeli’ is slated to release on August 25.
