Tuhin Kanta Pandey took charge as Revenue Secretary
New Delhi New Delhi: Incumbent Finance Secretary Tuhin Kant Pandey on Thursday took over as Secretary, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. According to the Finance Ministry, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Wednesday appointed Pandey as Secretary, Department of Revenue. Pandey replaced Revenue Secretary Arunish Chawla, who was appointed Revenue Secretary after Sanjay Malhotra was appointed Governor of Reserve Bank of India. The order also stated that Pandey will continue to be appointed as Finance Secretary, the Finance Ministry said. Pandey is a 1987 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Odisha cadre. Before serving as Secretary in DIPAM, Pandey held several important positions in the Central Government and Odisha State Government, besides serving in the Regional Office of United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO). His previous positions in the Central Government include Joint Secretary in Planning Commission (now Niti Aayog), Joint Secretary in Cabinet Secretariat and Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce. In Odisha, he served as administrative head in the departments of Health, General Administration, Commercial Tax, Transport and Finance. He also served as the Executive Director of Odisha State Finance Corporation and Managing Director of Odisha Small Industries Corporation.
