Turpu Kapu fears losing representation in Srikakulam
Srikakulam: With senior TDP leader Kimidi Kala Venkata Rao, who hails from Regidi mandal in Srikakulam district, being declared the candidate for Chipurapalli assembly constituency in Vizianagaram district, the Turupu Kapu community fears losing its representation in the district.
Leaders of the Turpu Kapu community believe that Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, who hails from the Polinathi Velama community, played a key role in replacing Venkata Rao with BJP leader N Eshwar Rao, who hails from the Kamma community, in the Etcherla assembly constituency.
Additionally, former Pathapatnam MLA and TDP in-charge Kalamata Venkata Ramana alleged that Atchannaidu played a key role in allotting his seat to Mamidi Govinda Rao.
The loss of representation of two prominent leaders in the upcoming elections has spread panic among the Turpu Kapu community.

Even though TDP is giving equal importance to both the communities by making Kala Venkata Rao the state president of TDP from 2014 to 2019 and Atchannaidu as the state president of the party after 2019 elections, there is internal discord between Velama and Turpu Kapu supported by Kinjarapu. Has been. and the Kimidi family respectively for political dominance in Srikakulam district for the last few decades.
It is noteworthy that Mamidi Kala Venkata Rao had joined the Praja Rajyam Party in the backdrop of the Kapu movement before the 2009 elections and returned to TDP after the elections. On the other hand, although Mamidi Govinda Rao also belongs to the Turpu Kapu community, Kalamata Venkata Ramana enjoyed the support of the community as a senior leader.
Venkat Ramana, whose father Mohan Rao was a four-time TDP MLA from Pathapatnam assembly constituency, was elected MLA under the YSRC flag in the 2014 elections and later joined the TDP in 2018.
