Two arrested in job fraud case in Bengal Food and Supplies Department
Kolkata (IANS). Kolkata Police on Friday said two people have been arrested for defrauding youth of money in exchange for jobs in the West Bengal Food and Supplies Department.
According to police, Sohag Biswas and Hrithik Paul were arrested on Thursday.
Biswas is a resident of Murshidabad district and Paul is a resident of Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas.
Both the accused were part of an online racket which lured youth for jobs in state government departments.
A city police officer said, “Once they were able to lure any youth into their online trap, they were asked to contact them at a specified location with Rs three lakh. On payment of money, the youth concerned were provided appointment letters with the seal of the department, which were later found to be fake.”
Recently, a Kolkata youth approached the city police about receiving a similar fake appointment letter in exchange for a payment of Rs three lakh.
The police started investigation and finally arrested both the men on Thursday night.
