Two people quarreled to sit on the foot of the train, both fell to death

Chennai (IANS). Two people traveling on the footboard of an unreserved compartment of a train fell to their deaths in Tamil Nadu. It is being told that this incident happened when both were quarreling with each other for the place there.

The incident took place on the Nagercoil-Coimbatore Express on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Mariyappan (48) and Muthukumar (33).

According to fellow passengers, the victims had quarreled among themselves over a seat on the step. During the fight, both lost control and fell on the tracks. One person died on the spot while the other was declared brought dead at the hospital.

Muthukumar was going to Erode from Marumuthar in Tenkasi district and Mariappan was going to Coimbatore from Kovilpatti. The incident took place between Sattur and Thulakpatti railway stations in the Virudhunagar-Kovilpatti section.

After the victims fell from the train, passengers pulled the emergency chain and got down to look for them.

Passengers found Mariappan dead on the track while Muthukumar, who was injured, was immediately rushed to the hospital where he too was declared brought dead.
