Ukraine Strikes Russia’s Ust-Luga Port, Massive Fire Reported

Russia has suffered another major setback in its war with Ukraine. Ukraine has launched drone strikes on the port of Ust-Luga, a vital part of the country’s economy. The attack on the gas terminal at the port on the Baltic Sea coast has caused a massive fire, bringing operations there to a standstill.
The Ust-Luga port, near St. Petersburg, is a key hub for Russian energy exports. It supplies a large amount of oil and gas to Europe and Asia. Long-range drones launched by Ukraine bypassed Russian air defense systems and hit gas storage tankers directly, causing a massive fire and severely disrupting operations.
Ukraine has been carrying out similar attacks for some time now, aiming to undermine Russia’s war potential. Ukraine is targeting oil refineries and fuel storage facilities in Russia. Experts predict that the latest attack will have a serious impact on Russian exports as oil refining machines (fractionation towers) were damaged. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the attack.
It said some drones were shot down, while others hit their targets. Russia described it as a “terrorist act” and warned Ukraine of “adequate retaliation.
